In this guide, we’ll show you how to read books purchased on the Google Play Books platform on your PocketBook e-reader.
Introduction
Google Play Books is an ebook digital distribution service operated by Google and is home to over 5 million ebooks and audiobooks. Books are distributed in the form of EPUB, PDF and ACSM files, all of which are supported natively by PocketBook e-readers.
Books can be purchased and managed on the web store or the app, which is available on Android, iOS, and Chrome.
Download your Book
Books that you purchase on Google Play Books will end up in the “My Books” section of the interface.
- Navigate to the “My Books” section of the interface. Books that you have borrowed or purchased will appear in this list.
- Find the book that you want to download, and click on the 3-dots to bring up the option tray.
- Click “Export”. You will be prompted with a dialog asking if you’d like to export the file as an “ACSM for EPUB” or “ACSM for PDF”.
- For e-readers, it’s usually better to get a file that natively supports reflow like EPUB and MOBI, so we recommend getting the “ACSM for EPUB” version here.
Transfer to PocketBook E-Reader
Now that you have your ebook file (ACSM/EPUB/PDF), you’ll just need to transfer it to your PocketBook e-reader using your preferred file transfer method.
